Movie 365 #150 – #165

150 – Planet 51, decent family animation but no incredibles.

151 – Centurion, like the start of gladiator but less good.

152 – Police Story 2 , Jackie Chan FTW.

153 – Dragon Hunters – Looked great but lacked decent story.

154 – Cool Hand Luke , paul newman as a prison hero , good stuff

155 – Sharktopus, half shark half octopus all friggin awesome.

156 – wrong turn and tahoe, half decent first half dissapointing 2nd half.

157 – Big Man Japan , weird japanese brilliant.

158 – Loose change, 911 conspiracys doc….not great.

159 – Aliens, classic

160 – the Blues Brothers, also a classic.

161 – Windtalkers – Nic Cage and navajho code talkers.

162 – Hackers – silly dated but not as great as i hoped.

163 – Commando – classic arnie.

164 – Cop Out – slightly different  cop buddy movie but not great.

165 – iron man 2 – good but not as great as ironman1

Movie 365 #121 –

More movies….i am kinda failing at this ….but am still watching alot of movies.

 

121. Micmacs – French crime caper with wonderful weird characters, great.

122. Behemoth – Cheap monster movie but not in a good way.

123. Toy Story – watched in in HD for 1st time..amazing movie.

124. Millers Crossing – Coen brothers ,Really enjoyed this.

125. XXX – Vin Diesel as an “extreme sports”  secret agent…terrible but still a laugh.

126.Extract – Mike Judge movie,didnt do justice to the factory work enviroment still good but not idiocracy,office space good.

127.Hot Tub Time Machine – mildy funny but really not very good.

128.Shelter – Julianne Moore….need i say more..she is awesome.

129.Falling down – Classic not seen it for years…great film.

130. Robocop -another childhood classic…and i had forgotten a lot of it. good stuff.

131.  Simpsons movie – seen more simpsons than is healthy over the years…a decent movie outing for the little yellow fellas.

132. Cabin Fever 2. not seen cabin fever 1 and i doubt i will bother.

133. Legion – the rapture in  small desert diner,different interesting enjoyable.

134. Soloman Kane – Like a cheap LoTR but suprisingly enjoyable.

135. Matrix Revolutions – worst of the 3….pretty awful.

136. Daredevil – Affleck as a blind superhero…better than the spiderman flicks.

137. Elektra – Daredevil spinoff with jennifer garner, pretty decent storyline and action.

138. Hellboy – Love the Hellboy movies….he is the best “superhero” or anti-hero.

139. Hellboy 2 – SO good….Love it.

140. Enchanted – i was ambivalent about this…wanted to hurl at the disney tweeness but also enjoyed it to some degree jsut like the 2 worlds clashing in the film.

141. Easy Rider – most overrated film of all time? quiet possibly. had its moments…but not nearly enough.

142. Whip it – Womens roller derby film , really enjoyed it, really great film.

143. Push – a bit like a movie version of heroes the sketching the future stuff was really well done and intriguing but the other  powers were somewhat underused.

144. Prince of persia :sands of time – silly but a far better movie than i expected…going intoa  movie with rock bottom expectations always gives it  a better chance.

145. Patriot Games – another movie i saw a load of times years ago, like it alot.

146. Surveillance – interesting and felt differnet to alot of movies but i spotted the twist a mile away.

147. the open road – a silent movie made inthe 1920′s using a new colouring technique ….jsut a road trip through Britain but amazing to see the people and landscape of the time.

148. Rec – already saw the hollywood remake “quarentine” but this was scarier.

149. Battle Royle – Japanese school kids put on an island to fight to the death…..great fun….gotta see the sequel.

Movie 365 #100 – #120

100.  Zombies Zombies Zombies – silly cheap zombie fun.

101. imaginarium of dr parnasus – different and enjoyable

102.  eternal sunshine of the spotless mind – clever filming and story. pretty good

103. Unthinkable – sam jackson tortures terrorist michael sheen ,interesting

104.  El Mariachi – Mexiacan mistaken identity story….good stuff.

105. The Rutles – the beatles spoof….i like the rutles better than the beatles!

106. High Fidelity – like john cusack like jack black but not enough stupid talk in the record shop.

107. waynes world – classic…..loved this movie back in the day.

108. Matrix reloaded – not very good but better towards the end.

109. the crimson rivers – French murder mystery with jean reno…interesting stuff.

110.  elektra luxx – i like carla gugino…a film for girls i think but different and enjoyable for that reason.

111.  flame and citron – danish  resistance in ww2  great stuff.

112. Kick Ass – great movie best movie i seen in ages.

seems i missed out 113 and 114 somehow? not sure

115. Constantine – i like it….bought it off ebay on dvd..racheal weisz FTW.

116. Fantastic Mr fox – enjoyable hokey style animation.

117. Scarface – not as great as i hope.

118. deep blue sea – intelligent sharks…are awesome.

119. stealth – silly super smart plane movie….fun but stupid

120. end of days – arnie flick…..love the arnie flicks.

movie 365 #80 – #99

80  500 days of summer – tommy from 3rd rock and zooey descahel…whats not to like.

81.  virtuosity – stupid “futuristic” and full of unintentional laughs.

82.  Astro Boy – nice sci fi animation about a robot boy..

83. Year one – not very good…but a couple of laughs.

84.  Daybreakers – i am wary of vampire films these days…but this was better than i expected.

85. The goods live hard sell hard – like strange spoof comedy but enjoyable.

86.  Splinter – Horror about a weird lichen infecting people…i liked it in a cheap crappy way.

87. Land of the lost – not great but interesting/entertaining enough.

88. Armoured – security guards try to steal money they are protecting…seen better episodes of the fbi files.

89. clash of the titans – overblown stupid but fun in places….but left me wting ray harryhausen stop motion.

90. Raging Bull – felt like goodfellas with boxing…i liked.

91. King Corn – a doc about corn growing in iowa and shitty strain of maize most farms now grow too feed beef herds and make corn syrup…interesting stuff.

92. Anchorman – liked this alot better on my 2nd viewing….i dont think ferrell is the comedy genius he is painted as…but he is funny.

93. Mega shark V Giant Octopus – Badass

94. Zombie Diaries – i got a cheap zombie box set…1 was this blair with style british effort….kindda entertaining.

95.  Heat – Classic….too long since i had seen this…great movie.

96. Days of darkness – 2nd film from the box set….kinda crappy…butstill had its fun moments.

97. Gattaca – interesting stuff….but my inner nerd wanted the movie to carry on for the space travel part.

98. Repo Men – in the future replacement organs are expensive…and if you dont keep up the payments that shit can get reposesed….bummer….but kinda interesing movie….although the title made me want to see the 80′s movie repoman again…not seen that in like 18 years or something.

99. The Fourth Kind – i liked it for a while…built the tension well but seemed to run out of ideas fast.

Movie 365 #70-#79

70 . Clerks II – good movie stupid jokes but with real heart.

71. Event Horizon – built the tension nicely…then turned stupid. (bad stupid)

72.Dude wheres my car? – low brow fun…but yeah not worth seeing again.

73.Grave of the Fireflies – usually ghibli gives me magical escapism…not here,still an amazing movie though.

74. The Warriors – I had heard of it…and read part 1 of a comic version….fun movie….CAN YOU DIG IT?

75. Turbulence – plane hijack with ray liotta and lauren holly…ok..very 90′s.

76. lost in translation -my tagline for this was nothing happens slowly…but i still liked it…hey its in japan and has bill murray and scalett johanson..whats not to enjoy?

77. ClerksII:back to the well – it was a making of doc….but film length so i count it….and interesting stuff…..i am hooked on kevin smith stuff lately.

78. Tommy Boy – pretty bad but had its funny moments.

79. Righteous kill – good, but miles behind heat…the other pacino de niro flick.

 

ages since i have seen heat so i ordered the 2 disc dvd for a fiver off amazon last night….also ordered giant shark v mega octopus and a box set of 3 cheap ass zombie flicks.

 

i need to post more stuff here….maybe some reviews of the smodcast podcast network shows that i am currently hooked on.

movie 365 #60 – #69

60.  The Princess Bride – heard so much about this movie….good but i think i expected too much

61.  Ninja Assassin – Stupid,violent fun….not great but entertaining enough

62.  Office Space – Love it….good stuff….silly but also profound…..mike judge is a genius.

63.  Raw Deal – Classic arnie movie…not one of his best but still worth a watch

64. Once – an irish hoover repair guy who plays guitar with a eastern european immigrant on the streets of dublin and then record an album together…..its a musical of sorts…..i was drunk but it was a beautiful movie.

65.  Aeon Flux – silly sci-fi…..stylish with a 2 dimensional story..still had cool moments.

66. Chasing Amy – Kevin Smith..not enough jay n bob but still  a good movie…great jaws homage scene.

67.  Dogma – Classic thought provoking religious fun…..love this movie.

68.  Red Planet – Worst mars movie evah……..val kilmer… he gets work how?

69. Jay and silent bob strike back – Funny shit….love these guys…great movie too tie in with the rest of the view askew movies.

50.  Kiki’s Delivery Service – nice fun little miyazaki flick

51. The Running Man – classic 80′s arnie life was better whe he made movies.

52. Goldmember – Austin Powers 3rd outing stupidly funny.

53.Goodfellas – took me too long to see this,  great film.

54. Death Train – Patrick Stewart early 90′s tv movie…but entertaining enough.

55. Green Zone – matt damon searching iraq for wmd’s ,well made but underwhelming

56. The men who stare at goats – Ewan Mcgregor,George clooney brilliant off kilter and not over done….really nice little movie.

57. Stupid teenagers must die – no budget horror i found on youtoob pretty good fun considering the lack of budget

58. The Island – Great premise and enjoyable to boot, couple of the action scenes were too long and silly.

59. Mallrats – Kevin Smith Slacker comedy where the slackers triumph good stuff.
